Pet Insurance Claim of the Week: Retinal Detachment

L.T. is a 6-year-old Shih Tzu with a recent claim for retinal detachment. This condition commonly occurs because of buildup of fluid in the eye which is usually a sign of a separate underlying disease or condition. From looking at the claim, it is unclear the cause of this condition. It is important to get this condition diagnosed and treated early as it can lead to permanent blindness.

L.T. received surgery to reattach the retina at an animal eye specialty clinic.

Total claim amount: $4,351.00
Deductible applied: -$100.00
Exam fees: -$0.00
10% co-insurance: -$425.10
Trupanion repaid: $3,825.90
